Cheri, the 26th Maou of Shin Makoku, has always been pursued by love, giving her three children, each by three very different men: Gwendal von Walde, Conrad Weller, and Wolfram von Bielefeld. Unlike his older brother Conrad, Wolfram never got to know his father. Instead, his early childhood was filled with flowers and presents from his mother suiters. Like the good mother she was, Cheri told Wolfram to pick the man among the masses he liked the most, and she would make him his father. Cheri, after all, had a very interesting way of expressing her love for her children.

Wolfram grew up with the privileges that came with being the son of the 26th Maou of Shin Makoku. Many of those privileges Wolfram would have rather he had without. From the start, the prince was more aggressive than passive, and would have much rather have been learning and practicing sword-fighting and fire magic(majutsu). But as luck, or fate would it, his tutor would have none of that. His tutor was Suzanna Julia von Wincott, Shibuya Yuuri's past incarnation. Julia, blind and very caring, was rather adept at healing magic. To Wolfram's dismay, he was forced to undergo hours of her tutoring that included learning healing magic and reading an entire library of books on the subject. His want to fight and learn fire majutsu go beyond a boyish interest. While he was studying healing magic, both Conrad and Gwendel were in battle, fighting in a war against the humans, while he was forced to stay home, and study. He couldn't help. This helped to nurture Wolfram's protective nature.
Wolfram was very close to his brother Conrad, and trusted him from the bottom of his heart. Right after he was born, Cheri handed him to Conrad, who as the story goes, carried him very gently an was very careful not to drop him. Conrad also took care of Wolfram as a child. But that trust was broken when he found that Conrad's father was human. This was one of the starts to Wolfram's rather racist attitude. How could his mother fall in love with a human, much less have a child with him? Of all the outrages, Cheri was very fond of saying what a wonderful and honorable man he was. As a mazoku growing up, war between mazoku and humans were constant. Turmoil turned into skirmishes, battles to full out bloody war. Each side did not trust the other. Despite Wolfram's affinity for battle, he is often one of the first to admit how bloody and horrible the war at that time was. Most of Shin Makoku's personnel had gone to war, even the gardener joined the troops.

The bloody and emotion filled war between the human and the mazoku shaped much of Wolfram's adolescence. The hatred and battles between the two races shaped his, and much of Shin Makoku's, distrust and hatred toward humans. Even to this day, the effects of the war show by Wolfram's intense distrust and hatred for humans, and his disapproval at being touched by one.

When Yuuri first came to Shin Makoku, Wolfram was one of the first to express his distrust and displeasure at the idea. He was furious, how could a child with no training, and a human mother, become the 27th Maou of Shin Makoku? All of this was made much worse when he made the mistake of insulting Yuuri's mother. Yuuri slapped him on his left cheek. Little did Yuuri know, in Shin Makoku, when a noble strikes another on his left cheek, its a marriage proposal. Wolfram was furious, and Yuuri refused to take it back, thinking that he had only slapped Wolfram for being rude. Wolfram's only re-compensation was to challenge the new Maou to a dual. If he won, Wolfram would be free. Tochallenge another to a dual in Mazoku culture, one has to pick up a knife thrown to the ground by another. Yuuri mistakenly picked up the silverware, including the knife. Wolfram hopped he would win, and in doing so regain back his honor. And Wolfram lost, which didn't improve matters any. Determined to win, Wolfram tried everything he could, including rushing Yuuri with a sword and a fireball, both completely against the rules. Wolfram is not one who looses gracefully, especially to a human. Yuuri's full spirit as the Maou was brought forth in that instance, angry at Wolfram's attacks that could have injured innocent people. He stated that Wolfram was irrational, rampaging and breaking the royal rules that he himself had earlier wished to cling to. Punishing him by holding him using water magic up in the sky, with a sign above him reading 'Justice', Wolfram was forgiven, and the dual ended. With Yuuri as the winner.

After that decisive battle, Wolfram became inseparable from Yuuri. He took his job as fiancée very seriously. He insisted on being there to protect him, calling him a wimp(henachoko), and a cheater, among other degrading(pet names) adjectives. They only serve to prove how much Wolfram desire to protect and grows to love Yuuri. Being his fiancée is much less of a job and becomes much more of a intrinsic desire of Wolfram's, a state of being. He knows Yuuri's abilities and limitations, and that he alone has to be there to supplement them if Yuuri needs help(which is most of the time). Wolfram also sleeps in the same bed as Yuuri. He says this is also to protect him, knowing that Yuuri is a wimp and wouldn't want to sleep along. He also claims that it is because he is Yuuri's fiancée, it is expected of him.

Shin Makoku, even with Yuuri's influence, doesn't stay peaceful for long. One of the human lands, Dai Shimaron, is trying to collect the four forbidden boxes, which would spell disaster for the world. The boxes contain Soshou, the manifestation of peoples negative emotions that have congealed together. As the manifestion of emotion, he cannot be easily defeated, he is formless. The first Maou, Shinou, sealed him into the four boxes, during the founding and beginning of Shin Makoku. But, keys to open the boxes again once more, so Soshou could be defeated were put in place. Those keys were inside 4 of Shinou's nobles, the ancestors of Gwendal (von Walde line), Wolfram(von Bielefeld line), Conrad(Weller line) and Yuuri(von Wincott line). The boxes are painstakingly collected, and eventually brought together to be sealed. Instead of being sealed, Shinou/Soshou breaks through and takes the keys to manifest his true form. Wolfram's key is his heart, and when it is taken to open the box 'the Frozen Soil of Helfire', his heart stops. Wolfram is sealed until the key to the box can be released and put back into Wolfram's body. The keys are put back in the correct bodies, and Yuuri leaves the world of Shin Makoku to go back home. After a rather tear-felt scene, Wolfram tell hims to leave, acting selflessly, for the sake of others who love Yuuri. Thankfully, Yuuri is able to come back to Shin Makoku and Wolfram reverts to his normal, bratty self. Soon after, Wolfram is pulled into the world of Avoria. There he was met up with Cheri and Itachi, and was rather annoyed at the apparent relationship between his mother and Itachi.

Personality:

Wolfram is a bit short tempered and arrogant, and rather outspoken in his hatred of humans. He has a bit of a spoiled brat complex, throwing a hissy fit and a temper tantrum if things don't go his way. He gets very angry and becomes a cute, cuddly ball of ultimate anger. He also has seasickness and a habit of sleeping in pink, frilly nightgowns, or nude. Although it may seem that Wolfram is obstinate, short tempered and aggressive, many of those emotions and actions are his way of protecting those closest to him, as well as expressing his ability or inability to protect. He's more than a bit racist not liking to be touched by humans.
Wolfram is also an avid painter, whose paintings, while considered masterpieces by some in ShinMakoku, can be considered somewhere between modern art, and a painting made by a 6 year old. His favorite paint is also rather expensive(and rather smelly) as it is made from the excrement of a very rare animal, the bearbee. He now prefers to paint with this because he says it symbolizes Yuuri's and his love. But that doesn't stop the smell. Wolfram also get's very seasick. He is also a very heavy sleeper. He can sleep half way off the bed, his body between the head and the floor, and snores. Although I imagine if he didn't sleep in such awkward positions, the snoring might decrease.
Most Mazoku are 5 times older than they look. Even though Wolfram is 82, in essence he is still a teenager, with all the ups and downs and mood swings. He is very jealous, impulsive and protective, and can be rebellious even to the point of throwing a temper-tantrum. Although Wolfram may act childish, his love for Yuuri is true. He has vowed to protect him no matter what sacrifice to himself should be made. He follows him where ever he goes, usually without asking, not only because, as he claims, Yuuri is a cheater, but because he knows Yuuri's limitations, his wants and needs, and that they often get the Maou into trouble. Wolfram has taken it upon himself to protect the young Maou, from, well, himself.


Wolfram above all wants to be by Yuuri's side, and love and protect him. Despite his appearance and attitude, he really does like kids and would protect them with his life, if they were in danger. He also let it slip that he wants children in the future. He has also been known to force his affection onto Yuuri, offering to wash his back, and then forcibly doing it anyway when Yuuri refuses. He also tends to go a little farther than 'just' washing his back. Wolfram has wandering hands syndrome. Yuuri doesn't tend to have a choice in the matter of denying Wolfram's affections. Yuuri is the most important person in Wolfram's life right now and he takes his job as fiancée very seriously. Even though he loves Yuuri, he cant seem to help but get jealous whenever the boy is in glancing distance of a female. Because Yuuri doesnt often display the kind of affection Wolfram puts forth as his fiancee, it is possible that he does believe Yuuri doesn't want him or like him. Although at times, it seems to be more out of habit than lack of self esteem. Wolfram is merely staking his claim on Yuuri, and would probably scent mark him if he could, and if it would do anything. Even though he teases Yuuri about being a wimp, Wolf knows Yuuri's limitations and often fears that his innocence and lack of experience(as well as being a teenager), will get in the way and cause him harm. Sometimes, however, Shin Makoku needs a little teenage inexperience.
